Storing CBD Products

I often get questioned on how long CBD will last before it goes bad.  There are a few variables which may affect the life of cannabidiol. Gold Concentrate comes in an opaque syringe which permits a certain amount of light to enter in.  If the container was clear, there would be an increase in light exposure which may cause a faster breakdown of the product.

It is always best to store food and other ingestible products in a cool dry place.   This rule applies to CBD as well.  Direct sunlight and temperatures over 75 degrees are two variables to avoid when storing your favorite life-changing plant compound.  It comes more into play once the product is opened.

After trying nearly every type of CBD which has been embedded in different forms (oils, gummies, chocolate etc.), I have concluded that Gold Concentrate is the purest form of cannabidiol—and works best for me.  If stored in a cool-dark environment, the shelf life is about two years when unopened.  Once it is opened, it is best to use it within a year. 

Gold Concentrate is easy to ingest from the hard part of a broken Q-tip® because it has a paste-like consistency.  I have found that storing the container in the refrigerator once it is opened, it seems to keep the same taste until it is gone. The thick, easy-to-apply viscosity also remains constant.  Although direct sunlight reduces the longevity of CBD, it is more important to keep the compound cool. 

CBD-infused coffee is another product which seems to have a synergistic effect in the body after it is brewed.  It comes in a thick brown bag which is lined with a resealable plastic inner component.  The same rules apply to the coffee, although the shelf-life is about a year.  Once it is opened, consumption of this amazing drink is best within six months.

If for some reason CBD stays in the mailbox during the winter months too long and freezes, the integrity of the product seems to not be affected.  Like most consumable food products, CBD freshness is enjoyed longer when stored in a cool dry place.  So, enjoy your incredible plant compound and try not to store it in direct sunlight or near a heat source.
